What Brings You Joy?

✨ Joy ✨

What are some little things that bring you joy?

This is a hard time of year for a lot of people, never mind all the stress that 2020 brought into our lives.

I don’t know what you’re going through right now & I don’t know how you’re feeling at this very moment, but I do know that stress is detrimental to our health, so we have to find ways to manage & live with it while we’re traversing the complicated parts of our life. Your happiness depends on it & so does your health.

It may feel like there’s no way to escape the stressors that have been presented to you as of late & that may be true temporarily, but I’d like you to do this small little exercise for me as your trying to navigate your stressors. I want you to make a list of little things that bring you joy & then I want you to chip away at this list until you’ve checked everything off. Finding simple ways to inject happiness into your life can make a world of difference. Your feelings & emotions are valid & I know things are hard right now but this little exercise can help boost your mood and give you the energy you need to tackle life’s challenges.

Every little joy on your list can be completely free. It can be done in your home away from other people. Or maybe it’s something you can do outside without interacting with others. Keep it simple, keep it small, keep it actionable, but make it personal to you & your unique needs.

Here’s my list of little things that bring me joy ❤️

🌱 Go for a long walk with Lily 🐶
🌱 Meditate
🌱 Read
🌱 Paint
🌱 Make Christmas cookies & salt dough ornaments
🌱 Watch Christmas movies
🌱 Day trip/change of scenery
🌱 Game night with my boyfriend Neel
🌱 Finish my puzzle 🙄
🌱 Write every day
🌱 Connect with the people I love ❤️

I hope you’re well & I hope your struggles, whatever they might be, are coming to an end soon. I hope you can find simple ways to bring joy into your life when stress feels overwhelming & never-ending. Though these simple joys will not solve your problems hopefully they’ll make the journey a little easier.

Meditation Series: Healing Trauma Through Natural Elements – Part 4 – Earth

✨NEW MEDITATION SERIES ON INSIGHT TIMER

This is the 4th & final part of the Healing Trauma Through Natural Elements series. This guided series is centered around healing trauma in a safe & healthy way as we channel earth’s natural elements. Today’s healing element is earth. Earth is about stability, strength & growth. It is here that you’ll find your footing & lay a solid foundation to rebuild your life & step back out into the world. This meditation will utilize visualization & sound healing.

If you have not completed parts 1-3 of this series, where we focused on Air, Fire & Water as healing elements, I would highly suggest starting there first as these meditations connect to one another in order.

I hope you enjoyed this trauma healing meditation series. Trauma healing is hard work, I know from personal experience, but you showed up and you did the work and I want you to take a moment to congratulate yourself for starting the healing process and completing this series.

Though these meditations connect to one another in order I would like to remind you that you can repeat these meditations as many times as you’d like. Naturally, there will be an element in this series that resonates more deeply with you than another. Trust that feeling and come back to it and any of the others in this series as many times as is necessary to help guide you on your healing journey.

Thank you for meditating with me! I thoroughly enjoyed creating this series and I can’t wait to create more meditations for you ✨

Meditation Series: Healing Trauma Through Natural Elements – Part 3 – Water

✨ NEW MEDITATION SERIES ON INSIGHT TIMER ✨

This is part 3 of the Healing Trauma Through Natural Elements series. This guided 4-part series is centered around healing trauma in a safe & healthy way as we channel earth’s natural elements. Today’s healing element is water, the protective womb stage of healing. Today you’ll mend & rebuild. You’ll go fully inside of yourself to provide love & protection, to heal & move forward with your life.

I hope these meditations have been helpful for you so far. I know from personal experience that trauma healing can be very triggering. I would suggest moving at your own pace through this series. You may even want to work through a single element multiple times before moving on to the next one. For example, if Air feels incredibly healing for you and you feel it’s helping you safely move through blocked feelings, focus on Air for a while before moving on to Fire. You can repeat these meditations as many times as you’d like. Think about it like watching a movie, every time you watch the same movie you see and pick up on new things you didn’t notice before, meditation is like that too. New feelings and emotions will come up every time you meditate. Allow these feelings and emotions to come up and flow freely. This is your body’s way of releasing trauma and navigating painful feelings and emotions that have been suppressed.

This meditation will utilize visualization & sound healing.

If you have not completed parts 1 & 2, where we focused on Air & Fire as healing elements, I would highly suggest starting there first as these meditations connect to one another in order.

I hope you’re enjoying this series. The 4th & final part of this series will be released later this week 🤗

Meditation Series: Healing Trauma Through Natural Elements – Part 2 – Fire

✨ NEW MEDITATION SERIES ON INSIGHT TIMER ✨

This is part 2 of the Healing Trauma Through Natural Elements series. This guided 4-part series is centered around healing trauma in a safe & healthy way as we channel earth’s natural elements. Today’s healing element is fire, where we’ll be free to feel anger & disappointment about our experience, as we focus on healing & clearing space for growth & transformation.

I know trauma healing can be very triggering, but as a trauma survivor myself I know the healing process is integral to moving forward with your life in a healthy way. Shoving it down, bottling it up, and pretending it’s not there will only make matters worse. I know, because I tried that first & it didn’t work. My best advice for you is to use these meditations as a safe space to allow feelings and emotions to come up without judgment or trying to change them. Don’t force them down, let them flow freely. This is your body’s way of releasing trauma, it’s detoxing.

This meditation will utilize visualization & sound healing.

If you have not completed part 1, where we focused on Air as a healing element, I would highly suggest starting there first as these meditations connect to one another in order.

I hope you’re enjoying this series. Part 3 will be released early next week 🤗

Meditation Series: Healing Trauma Through Natural Elements – Part 1 – Air

✨NEW MEDITATION SERIES✨

I’m so excited to finally put this series out into the world. I had to practice what I preach and overcome my fear to make this dream a reality. You can now find my meditations on Insight Timer 🤗 This has been 5 years in the making & I’m over the moon 🌙

Trauma healing is the #1 requested meditation from my clients & followers. I put a lot of love and personal experience into this series and I hope you love it ❤️

Welcome to the Healing Trauma Through Natural Elements series. This is a 4-part guided meditation series that’s centered around healing trauma in a safe & healthy way. Each meditation in this series focuses on healing trauma by channeling earth’s natural elements.

In Part 1 of this series, we’ll be focusing on Air as a healing element. Air healing is all about silently processing your experience. It’s a moment of suspension, where you’re just trying to make sense of it all. This stage of healing is about nurturing & protecting yourself. It’s about observing your feelings freely without judgment or expectations. I call this the “floating in the air” stage of healing, hence the use of the natural element, air.

This meditation utilizes visualization & sound healing.

I hope you enjoy this series. These meditations are meant to be practiced in order. Come back to them for daily support on your healing journey. I can’t wait to meditate with you!

Hope

“Hope is important because it can make the present moment less difficult to bear. If we believe that tomorrow will be better, we can bear a hardship today.” – Thich Nhat Hanh

I sent this to someone recently who’s been having a difficult time. They responded by saying, “hope isn’t going to change my situation.”

Here’s the thing about this quote & hope…

I can only speak from personal experience, as I’ve been through tough times in my life, at times even hitting the proverbial rock bottom, as I’m sure some if not all of you have as well. When I was without hope that things would get better things got real dark, real fast, and they definitely didn’t improve.

I had to work very hard to make my life better, nothing happened without great effort and creating opportunities for myself. It’s not like I was sitting around all day full of hope and things just fell on my lap, but having hope that things could get better is what got me off my bum and back out into the world, creating opportunities for a better life.

In my experience, hopelessness causes more hopelessness, and without hope, we crumble.

Hope indeed can make hardships easier to bear. 2020 has been full of hardships but I am hopeful that we are finally going in the right direction, not without the need of hard work, dedication, and unity, but I truly believe change is in our sights.

Sending hope your way today, happy Friday!
