Are you guys doing your body scans? Are you following them up with the guided journal writing prompts I provided you? I’m trying to provide as many stress & anxiety relieving tools as possible during this absolutely crazy time & this has been such a beneficial tool for me, so I’d really love for you to try it.
Check out the 3-Minute & 7-Minute Beginner’s Body Scanning videos I posted last week & keep an eye out for the 14-Minute Scan I’ll be posting this week as well. Then answer the body scanning guided writing prompts I provided for you last week. Reminder… this is how body scanning can help you:
I’m trying to stay grounded when the world around me feels like the complete opposite! I try to stay informed. I’m not an ignorance is bliss kind of gal. I like to get my hands dirty. I like to think I can be part of the change, moving the world in a positive direction, in every possible way I can; but everything feels SO much bigger than me right now, and I’ve had to tune some things out for my mental sanity. I feel like a coward, like I should be swimming in knowledge at all times or I’m part of the problem, but the reality is…I can’t change the world. I can help, that’s for sure, but I’m looking at things the wrong way, which is why I needed to recenter 🧘🏻♀️⠀
This forced isolation & down time is an opportunity to pivot. Not only in my business but as a human on this planet. Being silent right now has it’s positives. What can I do to take care of myself in this moment? How can I heal my pain, that’s directly related to what’s going on in the world, so I can pour positivity right back out into a world that needs it now more than ever. If I’m not well, I’m no good to anyone, and I definitely won’t be able to SAVE THE WORLD, lol 😂
I know this is hard, some of you have lost your jobs, or are on mandatory leave without pay, and that sucks, and I’m sorry! Some of you are sick, or have lost someone, and I’m so sorry. Here’s my question for you… How can you take care of yourself right now? How can you heal your pain so you can go back out into the world, when the dust has settled, and make the world a better place because of the lessons you learned when things were darker than they’ve ever been? What do you need right now? I’m asking myself the same question…let’s do this together. Trying times build warriors. Hard times build strength. Dark times build knowledge. We will come out the other side of this stronger, but use this time to take care of yourself and heal.
ATTENTION IMMUNOCOMPROMISED HUMANS 🙋🏻♀️ ⠀ I get it, I have Lupus, it’s scary out there for us right now, but let’s talk about stress for a second 👇🏽 ⠀ Stress is a MONSTER! Stress lowers your immune system, and what you need now more than anything is an immune system that’s going to fight to keep you safe and healthy. Stress free is the way to be. Easier said than done, I know from personal experience, but you have to override that fear in order to remain healthy. The situation we’re in right now is extremely triggering. I’m living through it with you. I don’t want to get sick, and I don’t want any of the drama that comes along with getting sick, mainly the financial burden of being sick. So I get it, but you have to breathe with me to get through this. Move your body. Meditate. Do this with me, develop healthy routines during this challenging time and stay healthy. ⠀ ⠀ Want to know how stress can affect your immune system? Want to know what can help? Want to work with me online while social distancing? If you answered yes then check out the images in this post to learn more.

Being a survivor of any trauma can be very lonely, scary & confusing. My healing journey was long, it was hard, but I persevered and today I am stronger than ever. I have my bad days, just like the rest of us. I have days when triggers are all around me and I have to dig into my healing toolbox and figure out what’s going to comfort me through my fears and doubts. Resources are EVERYTHING! Talk therapy is fantastic if you find the right therapist and have the means to pay for it. Support groups are incredible but from my experience it can take some time and courage to venture back out into the world. In this blog post I have provided some resources that don’t require you to leave your home if that’s not emotionally accessible to you at the moment. Of course if you’re further along on your healing journey these resources will be incredibly helpful for you as well.
If you have question or need to talk to someone please reach out. I am here for you, you are not alone.
Some of the books I’ve suggested here are not directly related to trauma, but they’re the books I found to be the most helpful on my healing journey. I hope the’re helpful for you as well.
Please reach out to someone you trust if you’re struggling with a current or past trauma. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. I know from personal experience how hard this can be, but I also know that you can heal tremendously with the right support system. You have all the tools you need to survive inside of you, you just need someone to show you where they are and how to utilize them. I’m here to help too, book your free consultation today and start your healing journey now.
YogiNest is about to get REAL! If you couldn’t tell already YogiNest has gone through some major changes in 2020. There’s a good reason for that. That reason is me & my responsibility to share my story. I’ve learned so much since I started YogiNest. One of those things is that people are hiding their traumas. People are hiding everything related to mental health. We did that, as a culture, we made it unsafe to talk about, and I just won’t have it anymore! It took me a long time to stop hiding my traumas. It was terrifying, and even when I did start sharing my traumas I only shared them with my therapist. It was a good start but I was still so scared and ashamed of my story that I never fully opened up to anyone in my life. I was scared they would think of me differently, or think I was weird, or that something was wrong with me. When I started sharing my story with my therapist it was the most painful experience of my life, but then something magical happened…I felt free for the first time in my life! LIBERATED! It took a long time to start opening up to others, but I did, baby steps. Now, with my practice, people are opening up to me, and I’m holding space for them. I even share my story when I feel it might help, and let me tell you something, it opens doors I didn’t even know existed. We’re meant to share stories, even the bad ones, it’s part of being human. The human connection includes not only the good but also the bad, the dark corners and crevices of our life, and we all have them. So I’m going to get even more vulnerable, because of what I’m seeing in my sessions, I’m going to start sharing my story here. It’s going to be hard, scary, sometimes painful, and sometimes liberating, but I know for sure that it will help…even if it’s just one person. So buckle up because things are going to get weird. From this point forward YogiNest is all about vulnerability, sharing my story, and how you can heal from trauma through Yoga + Mindfulness techniques. Stay tuned, or walk away now, hahaha, cause it’s gonna get real!
So many things are happening! I’m excited, nervous & feeling very vulnerable at the moment but I’m leaning into it. YogiNest is now creating videos with tips and tricks relating to Yoga & Mindfulness Meditation. We’re starting this journey with my 3 favorite breathing exercises, coming soon! Please stay tuned and subscribe to our new YouTube channel.
I hope to provide so many valuable tips for you. Easy, accessible & actionable.
