This guided series is centered around healing trauma in a safe & healthy way as we channel earth’s natural elements. Today’s healing element is earth. Earth is about stability, strength & growth. It is here that you’ll find your footing & lay a solid foundation to rebuild your life & step back out into the world. This meditation will utilize visualization & sound healing. ⁠

⁠If you have not completed parts 1-3 of this series, where we focused on Air, Fire & Water as healing elements, I would highly suggest starting there first as these meditations connect to one another in order. ⁠

⁠I hope you enjoyed this trauma healing meditation series. Trauma healing is hard work, I know from personal experience, but you showed up and you did the work and I want you to take a moment to congratulate yourself for starting the healing process and completing this series.⁠

⁠Though these meditations connect to one another in order I would like to remind you that you can repeat these meditations as many times as you’d like. Naturally, there will be an element in this series that resonates more deeply with you than another. Trust that feeling and come back to it and any of the others in this series as many times as is necessary to help guide you on your healing journey.⁠

⁠This is part 3 of the Healing Trauma Through Natural Elements series. This guided 4-part series is centered around healing trauma in a safe & healthy way as we channel earth’s natural elements. Today’s healing element is water, the protective womb stage of healing. Today you’ll mend & rebuild. You’ll go fully inside of yourself to provide love & protection, to heal & move forward with your life.⁠

⁠I hope these meditations have been helpful for you so far. I know from personal experience that trauma healing can be very triggering. I would suggest moving at your own pace through this series. You may even want to work through a single element multiple times before moving on to the next one. For example, if Air feels incredibly healing for you and you feel it’s helping you safely move through blocked feelings, focus on Air for a while before moving on to Fire. You can repeat these meditations as many times as you’d like. Think about it like watching a movie, every time you watch the same movie you see and pick up on new things you didn’t notice before, meditation is like that too. New feelings and emotions will come up every time you meditate. Allow these feelings and emotions to come up and flow freely. This is your body’s way of releasing trauma and navigating painful feelings and emotions that have been suppressed.  ⁠

This is part 2 of the Healing Trauma Through Natural Elements series. This guided 4-part series is centered around healing trauma in a safe & healthy way as we channel earth’s natural elements. Today’s healing element is fire, where we’ll be free to feel anger & disappointment about our experience, as we focus on healing & clearing space for growth & transformation.⁠

⁠I know trauma healing can be very triggering, but as a trauma survivor myself I know the healing process is integral to moving forward with your life in a healthy way. Shoving it down, bottling it up, and pretending it’s not there will only make matters worse. I know, because I tried that first & it didn’t work. My best advice for you is to use these meditations as a safe space to allow feelings and emotions to come up without judgment or trying to change them. Don’t force them down, let them flow freely. This is your body’s way of releasing trauma, it’s detoxing.  ⁠

⁠I’m so excited to finally put this series out into the world. I had to practice what I preach and overcome my fear to make this dream a reality. You can now find my meditations on Insight Timer 🤗 This has been 5 years in the making & I’m over the moon 🌙 ⁠

⁠Welcome to the Healing Trauma Through Natural Elements series. This is a 4-part guided meditation series that’s centered around healing trauma in a safe & healthy way. Each meditation in this series focuses on healing trauma by channeling earth’s natural elements. ⁠

⁠In Part 1 of this series, we’ll be focusing on Air as a healing element. Air healing is all about silently processing your experience. It’s a moment of suspension, where you’re just trying to make sense of it all. This stage of healing is about nurturing & protecting yourself. It’s about observing your feelings freely without judgment or expectations. I call this the “floating in the air” stage of healing, hence the use of the natural element, air.

Benefits of Breathing Techniques

Over the next few weeks I’m going to be sharing my top 3 breathing techniques. I teach all 3 of these to my new clients. They are easy, accessible & actionable. I think they’re great for beginners & advanced students alike. You don’t have to have any special skills to do these techniques, you just need to know how to breath & I think you’ve probably got that one figured out since you’re reading this. You can do them anywhere & anytime, just like how you’re breathing wherever you are right now. That’s how simple this is. I love doing these breathing techniques lying down but I find they’re very helpful in a pinch; during stressful situations, heavy traffic, when I can’t sleep & when I’m feeling anxious. YogiNest’s Mission

YogiNest’s voice is changing! As I grow and change, YogiNest too will grow and change, and that’s exactly what’s happening.

I’ve been working with clients for almost 5 years now & I’ve noticed that the stigma surrounding mental health is VERY REAL & VERY SERIOUS! 

I’ve actually been part of the problem, as my fear and vulnerability has kept me from talking about my own mental health. I’ve talked about why YogiNest exists, or at least why it was created in 2015, but that why is changing. Yes my struggle with Lupus still fuels my desire to help those who might also be struggling with an illness, but the thing that’s calling, screaming rather, for my attention over and over is a lot of unchecked trauma and hidden mental health concerns. Over 90% of my clients are practicing mindfulness with me and most of them have 1 thing in common, they’ve been struggle with unresolved traumatic issues a majority of their life and little has eased their affliction…but guess what…MINDFULNESS IS WORKING!!!

And so this is my mission:

-> To share my story! To be more vulnerable and raw! All of us have a story, all of us struggle from time to time. This is normal and my goal is to normalize the crap out of mental health concerns because enough is enough! You are not broken! And you are not alone!!! 

-> I’ll still be teaching yoga full time BUT mindfulness will be my main focus. My goal is to teach you as many actionable tools as I can. I want mindfulness to be accessible to all. It works!!! I’ve seen it over and over again. 

-> To teach “The YogiNest Method,” 1 part movement, 1 part mindfulness. You need to move your body, it’s important for your mental health. You can physically work out whatever issues are keeping you from your full potential + it feels damn good. You also need to check in with your mental self, this is imperative! Where are you today? Ask yourself without judgment and then use mindfulness tools to work through those feelings. Nothing is more freeing!

-> To be honest, to be organic, to build a strong community that feels safe talking about mental health <—- this is the big one! 

I want to build a community that feels safe, a space that allows you to openly talk about mental health. We’ve all been touched by it, whether from our own internal struggles or watching someone we love struggle. Let this be your safe space to talk about whatever feels necessary to you.
