It’s easy to get wrapped up in all the depressing news, statistics, quarantine extensions & heaviness that surround COVID-19. All that stuff is important & we should absolutely stay informed, but we also need to balance the bad with good so we don’t spiral. This week, all I want to focus on is gratitude! In some way, shape, or form, we’re all being affected by this virus, but we also have things we can be grateful for too. This moment of pause has highlighted a lot of things for me. I’m lucky I have such a strong mindfulness practice or the negative thoughts would consume me, but somewhere in between & underneath all the pain I feel for everyone on this planet I’ve also discovered a great deal of things to be grateful for. What are you grateful for? What is keeping you sane during this absolutely crazy time? Here’s my list, I can’t wait to see yours 🙌🏽
❤️My health. I have Lupus & feel lucky to have remained healthy during this challenging time.⠀
❤️The health of my friends & family⠀
❤️My boyfriend, who refuses to let me do anything that would put me at risk of getting sick. Thank you for taking such good care of me ❤️⠀
❤️The roof over my head⠀
❤️Food in my fridge⠀
❤️My pets, no clue what I would do without them. They lighten even the darkest of times.⠀
❤️My mindfulness practice, keeping me from the depths of sadness & depression. Teaching me how to stay balanced & process negative feelings as they come up so they don’t spiral out of control⠀
❤️Pen & paper – Such a simple thing, but SO therapeutic! Writing, drawing, coloring, painting. Forever grateful to express feelings & emotions this way⠀
❤️Books!⠀
❤️Nature – Don’t worry, I’m not getting anywhere near another human, but don’t think I’m not walking my pup in our neighborhood. 10 minutes outside makes all the difference⠀
❤️Technology – Without it I wouldn’t be able to talk to my friends & family near & far, let alone see their faces! I’m thankful for platforms that allow me to play games with my friends & interact during quarantine. It also allows me to continue to teach my clients, which is SO incredible!⠀
I could go on & on but I’d love to hear your list…your turn 😘Let me know what you’re grateful for in the comments.
