Earlier this week I kicked off my Breathwork Meditation Series with an Introduction To Breathwork Meditation.
If you’re new to breathwork it’s a great place to get started as I discuss what breathwork is, how it can help you & provide a short & simple guided breathing exercise, zero experience necessary 👍🏽
The series continues with 3 meditations that will gradually help you take your breathwork practice to the next level, starting with the 5-Minute (4-4) Breathwork Meditation, then increasing to 10-minutes & finally 20-minutes.
In this part of the series, you’ll be inhaling & exhaling both for the count of 4. I also call this technique Breath Mirroring, since your inhales & exhales are the same length.
In my 5 years of teaching, I have found this technique to be the most successful with beginners who are curious about breathwork but genuinely believe they aren’t capable. Spoiler alert, they are, we all are & the benefits are endless.
Breathwork = Magic ✨
No seriously, it truly is one of the most powerful mindfulness practices I teach in coaching sessions & the reason for that is stress & anxiety, which is inevitable, inescapable & universal.
Stress & anxiety trigger the “fight-or-flight” response, which releases a surge of hormones like cortisol & adrenaline into the body, causing breathing to speed up, your pulse & blood pressure to increase & it puts your body into a state of hypervigilance which can affect your immune system, quality of life & overall well-being.
Breathwork can reduce your blood pressure, lower your heart rate, help you cope with the symptoms of PTSD, manage symptoms of depression & sleeplessness, relieve mental, physical & emotional tension & so much more.
So, save this post & give us a follow to learn more about breathwork.
