Should I Nourish This, Or Let It Go?

Humans are creatures of habit and it’s easier to be complacent than it is to put the work in and change something that’s causing us stress & anxiety.

My challenge for you is to keep a running list of things you do from day-to-day. This could be anything from what you eat for breakfast, to time spent on social media, to meetings at work.

I’d add to this list some of your regular habits, be honest, add the unhealthy habits too. This list might consist of things like biting your nails, smoking, meditating, exercising, or eating chocolate cake every night before you go to bed.

Now take this list and determine which of these things bring you happiness and improve the quality of your life, and which of these things cause you to feel stressed and anxious.

The reality is that some of the things that cause us stress & anxiety are self-created.

After you’ve completed your list I’d like you to take some time to determine what parts of your life you’d like to nourish, and what you need to work on letting go of.

Even if you’re not 100% ready to make big changes in your life a simple exercise like this one is a step in the right direction. It’s a great opportunity to connect more deeply with yourself, to practice self-care, and to really notice the places in your life that are going well and where you could make some improvements.

Keep this list somewhere that you can see it on a regular basis, you’ll be more likely to take the necessary steps towards growth and change if it’s at the forefront of your mind 🧠
